Based on the events of World War II in the Libyan Desert, Sudden Strike 4: Africa - Desert War takes you to the most famous battles in North Africa. Take on the role of one of five new generals such as Erwin Rommel and Sir Richard O´Connor. You can order the Axis forces to invade Libya, Tunisia and Egypt to catch American forces by surprise and defeat them at the Battle of Kasserine Pass, or take command of the Allies and replay the Second Battle of El Alamein, which turned the tide of the Libyan campaign desert. Test your tactical skills as you fight in the harsh desert amidst sandstorms.

• Two small campaigns with six new missions based on events in North Africa during World War II.
• In the Axis campaign, you start by advancing the Italians into Egypt to capture the city of Sidi Barrani, siege Tobruk and gain control of the local harbor, and break through the Kasserine Pass in Tunisia. In the Allied Campaign you will take part in Operation Compass and take back control of the village of Sidi Barrani, recreate the watershed of the Libyan Desert campaign - the second battle of El Alamein - and break through the German defenses in the Battle of the Maret Line.
• Five new doctrinal commanders: On the Axis side, you can choose from the award-winning Erwin Rommel, or one of three Italian commanders, such as the renowned Field Marshal Giovanni Messe. On the side of the Allies, you can play as the legendary General Sir Richard O´Connor.
• More than 30 new types of transport, including a medical truck, tank destroyer Marder II, British ACS Bishop, and Italian ACS Semovente da 105/25.
